Canadian Land Trust Alliance

The Canadian Land Trust Alliance was a national association of member land trusts from across Canada. It was managed by a volunteer board made up of representatives from each region of Canada. The CLTA Mission was "to promote private land conservation and to strengthen the land trust movement nationally through communication, education, and the development of partnerships." The CLTA created the Canadian Land Trust Standards and Practices to help current and new land trusts improve and create solid conservation programs that will ensure land protected through them will remain that way in perpetuity. Even the CLTA is no longer running the Standards and Practices remain a solid resource for land trusts. There is a PDF of the Standards and Practices in the Resource section of this website.
